Theory of constitution susceptibility
摘要
Abstract
The theory of constitutional susceptibility is one of the core components of the'four theories of pathogenesis' in constitutionology of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).It refers to the differences in susceptibility among individuals with different constitutional types to the same pathogenic factor or disease,meaning that specific constitutional types have a predisposition or tendency to develop certain diseases.This paper systematically discusses the background of the concept of constitutional susceptibility by reviewing the understanding of it in ancient and modern TCM as well as evidence from modern research.Its scientific connotation is explained from three perspectives:how constitution determines the body's susceptibility to different pathogenic factors,seasonal triggers and regional pathogenic factors.Furthermore,its clinical significance is explored in terms of guiding empirical research on constitution-disease correlations,enabling disease prevention before onset and chronic disease management,and transforming disease diagnosis and treatment models.The proposal of the theory of constitutional susceptibility is of great significance for enriching TCM pathogenesis theory,revealing the heterogeneity of complex diseases,and enhancing the ability to predict disease occurrence.关键词
