Abstract
[Objective]To investigate the correlation between the expression levels of kinesin-like protein 20A(KIF20A)and forkhead box protein A2(FOXA2)in cancer tissues and the pathological characteristics as well as postoperative prognosis of elderly patients with colorectal cancer.[Methods]A retrospective study was conducted on 89 colorectal cancer patients admitted to Puyang People's Hospital from February 2021 to August 2024,who were selected as the research subjects. The expression levels of KIF20A and FOXA2 were compared among patients with different pathological characteristics.Based on the prognosis of patients six months after surgery, they were categorized into a good group(65 cases)and a poor group(24 cases). The general information and expression levels of KIF20A and FOXA2 in cancer tissues were compared between the two groups. The influencing factors of patient prognosis and the interaction between the expression levels of KIF20A and FOXA2 in cancer tissues and the risk of poor prognosis were analyzed.[Results]The expression levels of KIF20A and FOXA2 in cancer tissues of patients with different differentiation levels, pathological grading, and lymph node metastasis were compared, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The proportion of patients with poor differentiation, pathological grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ,lymph node metastasis, and positive expression of KIF20A and FOXA2 in cancer tissue was higher in the poor group than in the good group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The expression levels of KIF20A and FOXA2 in cancer tissues were independent factors affecting patient prognosis, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The expression levels of KIF20A and FOXA2 in cancer tissues had a positive additive interaction with the risk of poor prognosis in patients, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).[Conclusion]The expression levels of KIF20A and FOXA2 in cancer tissues are associated with the degree of lesion differentiation, pathological grading, lymph node metastasis, and prognosis after radical resection in elderly patients with colorectal cancer.Furthermore, the expression levels of KIF20A and FOXA2 have a positive additive interaction on the risk of poor prognosis in patients.Clinically, the prognosis of patients can be predicted by detecting the expression levels of these two genes to guide clinical treatment.关键词
