Six Focuses for Improving the Career Satisfaction of Higher Vocational College Teachers during the"15th Five-year Plan"Period

Abstract
This study employs a specialized evaluation tool for higher vocational education teachers from the National Vocational Education Satisfaction Survey to conduct a systematic assessment and empirical analysis of job satisfaction among higher vocational education teachers.The results indicate that the overall job satisfaction of higher vocational teachers in China is at a relatively high level,with the following specific characteristics:teachers generally express satisfaction with interpersonal relationships at work,professional development support,school culture construction,school governance,government protection of rights and interests,and personal career prospects.However,there remains room for improvement in areas such as cultivating students'learning abilities,opportunities for enterprise practice,evaluation mechanisms,social recognition and professional fulfillment.Accordingly,to improve the job satisfaction of higher vocational college teachers,recommendations are proposed,including enhancing students'motivation through professional competency cultivation and optimizing academic atmosphere construction;establishing a collaborative school-enterprise practical support mechanism to align teaching with industry needs;transitioning university management services from an"administrative-led"to a"service-oriented"approach to improve fairness and precision in governance;improving basic conditions for office and research work,and establishing a research support system tailored to vocational education;innovating assessment and evaluation mechanisms to highlight the distinctive features of vocational education;and enhancing teachers'professional value recognition and job vitality through measures such as establishing a platform for showcasing achievements and improving social recognition.关键词
