Design and mathematical model of new harmonic reducer with circular-parabolic tooth profile

Abstract
As precision transmission devices,harmonic reducers are widely applied in industrial automation and robotics.However,traditional tooth profiles still have limitations in terms of load capacity and meshing performance.To improve the instantaneous meshing number and meshing stability,this paper proposes a new harmonic reducer with a circular-parabolic tooth profile.First,the mathematical model of the parabolic curve segment is derived based on the principle of harmonic drive and the coordinate transformation method.Then,a new method for designing the flexible tooth profile of the harmonic reducer is developed based on geometry and kinematics theories.The conjugate meshing relationship between the flexible and the rigid wheels is built and tooth profile equation of rigid wheel is further derived.Finally,the verification of interference-free contact of the conjugate tooth profiles is proposed.By integrating Matlab numerical calculation with UG modeling technology,the parameterized design and solid model construction of the flexible wheel,rigid wheel,and wave generator are completed.This paper may provide some insights into improving the load capacity of harmonic reducers.关键词
