Resonating emotionally with the audience,and synchronizing with the spirit of the times:A study of hero narratives in Chinese domestic films in the digital media environment

Abstract
In the contemporary media environment where the internet and digital technologies are deeply embedded in film production and dissemination,hero narratives in Chinese domestic films are undergoing a significant transformation-from"symbolized sublimity"to"popularized authenticity",and from one-way ideological transmission to emotional co-construction.The traditional model of portraying heroes as flawless and idealized figures has become increasingly incompatible with the emotional needs and value identification of Generation Z audiences,making it necessary to systematically analyze the new characteristics and communication logic of hero narratives in the new era.Taking the digital media context as the core analytical framework,this study employs a combination of close textual analysis,genre comparison,and case studies.Representative texts including war films,realist films,and animated films-are selected to examine the characteristics of hero narratives in contemporary Chinese cinema from some dimensions,such as"resonating emotionally with audiences","synchronizing with the spirit of the times",and so on.Digital technologies empower the micro-level realism of visual representation,enabling heroic figures to break free from symbolic constraints and return to the emotions and dilemmas of ordinary people.Meanwhile,the progressive mechanism of"emotional triggering-emotional accumulation-cognitive consensus"strengthens the empathetic dissemination of mainstream values.Cross-media linkage and genre integration further expand narrative boundaries,allowing hero narratives to resonate with the values of the times.Digital media,possessing both technological and cultural attributes,provides new possibilities for Chinese domestic films to balance the transmission of national narratives with the construction of emotional communities.It also offers practical references for aesthetic innovation and value communication in the creation of hero-themed films in the new era.Looking ahead,as new technologies continue to evolve,hero narratives will gain broader space for innovation.Nevertheless,adhering to mainstream values and achieving the integration of technology and humanistic spirit will remain the key to sustaining their vitality.关键词
