Research on the Impact of Carbon Trading System on Green Innovation of Enterprises A Quasi Natural Experiment Based on China's Carbon Emission Trading Pilot

Abstract
At present,a large number of studies focus on environmental regulation and enterprise green innovation.However,for China's carbon trading pilot policy,especially from micro perspective,the study on the carbon trading policy effects on enterpri-ses green innovation needs to be further enriched and in-depth.In view of this,by matching the data of carbon trading pilot en-terprises with those of green patents data of Chinese listed enterprises from 2009 to 2020,the study uses the multi-temporal PSM-DID model to estimate the carbon trading policy effects on enterprises green technological innovation.The empirical results show that the carbon trading system significantly promotes the growth of the total amount of green technology innovation,but fail to im-prove the quality of green technological innovation and the breakthrough innovation activities of enterprises.Carbon trading sys-tem has an asymmetric influence on the green technology innovation of enterprises,and can significantly promote the green inno-vation level of enterprises in non-resource-based cities,small and medium-sized and non-heavy polluting industries.But the green innovation promotion effect on resource-based cities and large and heavy polluting enterprises is not significant.In addi-tion,the study finds that the carbon trading system can improve the public environmental concern,and then indirectly promote the green innovation development of enterprises.关键词
