Progress on the application of neurofilament light chain in epilepsy
摘要
Abstract
Epilepsy is one of the neurological diseases caused by multiple etiologies and characterized by repeated abnormal discharges of neurons.Neurofilament light chain(NfL)is a cytoskeletal protein of nerve axons and has been identified as a biomarker for axonal injury in many central nervous system diseases.In recent years,the application value of NfL in epilepsy has gradually attracted attention.The degree of elevation of NfL levels is closely related to the severity and duration of epileptic seizures.The dynamic changes in NfL levels are associated with the clinical outcomes of patients with status epilepticus.This article reviews the value of NfL as a biomarker for epilepsy and potential research directions,aiming to provide new ideas for the clinical management of epilepsy patients.关键词
