Evidence summary for nursing management of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency in patients undergoing pancreatic surgery

Abstract
Objective To summarize the best available evidence for nursing management of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency(PEI)in patients undergoing pancreatic surgery,and to provide an evidence-based foundation for clinical practice.Methods Following the"6S"pyramid model,a systematic search was conducted for literature on PEI management in patients undergoing pancreatic surgery from guideline websites,professional association websites,and databases.The search period covered from the inception to August 20,2025.Two researchers,both systematically trained in evidence-based nursing,independently performed literature screening,quality evaluation,and evidence extraction and synthesis based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria.Results Ten studies were collected,including one clinical decision,six guidelines,and three expert consensuses.A total of 32 pieces of best evidence were syn-thesized across four dimensions:PEI assessment,pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy(PERT)management,outcome evaluation and follow-up,and health education.Conclusion This study provides an evidence-based foundation for healthcare professionals manag-ing PEI in patients undergoing pancreatic surgery.It is recommended that clinicians selectively apply this evidence based on specific clinical context and patient characteristics to improve patients'quality of life.关键词
