MRE11高表达促进前列腺癌恶性进展并预示不良预后
High expression of MRE11 promotes malignant progression and predicts poor prognosis in prostate cancer

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression of meiotic recombination protein 11(MRE11)in prostate cancer and its association with clinical pathological features and prognosis.Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed on tissue samples from 50 patients with prostate cancer and 50 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia at the Affiliated Hospital of Youjiang Medical University for Nationalities from May 2019 to Aug 2021.The expressions of MRE11 and Ki-67 were detected by immunohistochemistry,and their correlation with clinicopathological characteristics and progression-free survival(PFS)were analyzed.Results:The positive expression rate of MRE11 in prostate cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in benign prostatic hyperplasia tissues(P＜0.05).Additionally,MRE11 expression was associated with clinical pathological features such as prostate-specific antigen(PSA),clinical T stage,bone metastasis,vascular invasion,and neural invasion(P＜0.05).Furthermore,a significantly higher positive expression rate of MRE11 was observed in the high-risk Gleason score(GS≥8)group(P＜0.05).High-risk GS score and the presence of neural invasion were independent risk factors for shorter PFS,i.e.,progression to castration-resistant prostate cancer(P＜0.05).And the MRE11 high-expression group had a significantly shorter PFS(P＜0.05).Among patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer,high expression of MRE11 was correlated with poor prognosis(P＜0.05).Conclusion:High expression of MRE11 is a risk factor for progression to castration-resistant prostate cancer in prostate cancer patients following endocrine therapy,providing a novel potential biomarker for early diagnosis and prognostic evaluation of prostate cancer.关键词
