Evaluation Value of Different Indicators on the Severity of Pneumonia in Elderly Patients and the Predictive Value of Prognosis

Abstract
Objective To study the value of different indicators in evaluating the severity and predicting the prognosis of elderly patients with pneumonia.Methods A total of 62 elderly patients with pneumonia admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from December 2023 to December 2024 were enrolled.The clinical data of the patients were collected,and the incidence of poor prognosis in elderly patients with pneumonia was statistically analyzed.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of admission death.ROC curve was drawn to evaluate the predictive value of different indicators for admission death.Results There were 35 cases of poor prognosis in 62 patients with pneumonia,accounting for 56.45%;27 cases had good prognosis,accounting for 43.55%.There were significant differences in gender,diabetes mellitus,Alzheimer disease,bed rest,lymphocyte count,neutrophil,NLR,CRP,albumin and prealbumin between the two groups(P<0.05).Multivariate binary Logistic regression analysis showed that Alzheimer disease,neutrophils,CRP and NLR were risk factors for death in elderly patients with pneumonia(P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve of combined diagnosis of NLR and CRP was greater than that of single diagnosis,with good predictive efficacy(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of NLR and CRP can more accurately evaluate the severity of pneumonia in elderly patients,and has a high predictive value for the prognosis of patients,which provides an important basis for clinical treatment and prognosis.关键词
