Treatment of Ocular Diseases Caused by Latent Pathogens Based on Fuyang Theory
摘要
Abstract
Latent pathogens refer to pathogenic factors that hide within the body without causing immediate illness,characterized by"dynamic spatiotemporal progression""concealment"and"self-accumulation".Many ocular diseases,such as viral keratitis,immune-related conjunctivitis,uveitis,and diabetic retinopathy,exhibit features of recurrence,refractoriness,and occultation,which align with the pathogenic characteristics of latent pathogens.The authors categorize ocular diseases that meet these criteria as"latent pathogen-induced ocular diseases"and summarize their etiology and pathogenesis from the perspective of latent pathogen-induced illness:Yang deficiency leads to an inability to expel pathogens,allowing them to lurk in stagnated areas.Yang deficiency further disrupts Qi movement and transformation,resulting in the accumulation of pathological products,which manifest as latent wind,dampness,dryness,or stasis binding in the eyes,leading to the blockage of Xuanfu and the onset of latent pathogen-induced ocular diseases.Based on the"Fuyang"theory,the prevention and treatment of these diseases involve promptly identifying potential Yang-deficient syndromes and intervening in sub-Yang deficiency conditions as early as possible.For external ocular diseases,the treatment principle focuses on unblocking Yang to disperse pathogens,employing methods such as activating Yang to expel pathogens and elevating Yang to release pathogens.For internal ocular diseases,the principle emphasizes supporting Yang to expel pathogens,utilizing approaches like fortifying Yang to eliminate pathogens and harmonizing Yang to regulate pivot mechanisms.The overarching treatment strategy aims to resolve pathological products caused by latent pathogens and guide Yang from Yin to restore balance.关键词
