Abstract
To determine the safe dose of telazol in the combined intravenous-inhalational anesthesia protocol for rabbits,an evaluation was conducted on the anesthetic effect of the protocol,as well as the impacts of the drug on cardiovascular function, respiratory function, and renal function. In this experiment, rabbits undergoing combined intravenous-inhalational anesthesia were divided into high, medium and low doseage groups based on the the administration dose of telazol.Anesthesia induction was achieved by the combination of intravenous injection of brimonidine,Telazol, and lidocaine, followed by inhalation of 2%isoflurane for 5 minutes.Subsequently, anesthesia maintenance was performed for 2 hours through the combination of continuous intravenous infusion and inhalation of 1%isoflurane.The kidney function and renal histopathology were measured at 24 hours post-administration.The results showed that all groups of rabbits receiving combined intravenous-inhalation anesthesia could maintain anesthesia continuously for 2 hours.During anesthesia, blood pressure and respiratory function remained stable in each group of rabbits. The low-dose group exhibited a decrease in blood pressure at the 120th minute. There were no significant abnormalities in renal function or renal pathology in the low-dose group receiving combined intravenous-inhalational anesthesia. However, for rabbits in the high-dose and medium-dose groups, although no obvious abnormalities were observed in renal function, abnormal changes were found in renal pathology. The results indicated that the combined intravenous-inhalational anesthesia protocol involving telazol exerted a stable anesthetic effect on rabbits and had minimal impacts on cardiovascular dynamics and respiratory function. However, only the low-dose group of the combined intravenous-inhalational anesthesia showed no abnormalities in renal pathology;in contrast, the protocols using higher doses of telazol exhibited nephrotoxicity in rabbits. It is indicated that the existing general anesthesia protocols for rabbits containing telazol carry toxicity risks. This study provides a new combined intravenous-inhalational anesthesia protocol, which controls the dose of telazol within the safe dose range.关键词
