Carbon Footprint Analysis of Straw Energy Conversion Methods

Abstract
In order to describe the carbon footprint of the main energy utilization scenarios of straw in China,this study ex-plores the economic and environmental benefits of three utilization modes of straw biogas,pyrolysis carbonization and direct combustion power generation.Through the construction of carbon emission assessment boundary and analysis method,the influence of different links on the final net emission reduction effect and the main constraints are clarified.The results showed that the net carbon emissions of biogas utilization,pyrolysis biochar and direct-fired power generation were-1.238 kgCO2·kg-1,-0.624 kgCO2·kg-1 and-0.553 kgCO2·kg-1,respectively.All of them can reverse the carbon emissions of direct incineration(4.2572 kgCO2·kg-1).The impact potential values on environmental acidification were 0.0016 kg·a-1,0.0165 kg·a-1and 0.01425 kg·a-1,respectively,and the impact potential values on human toxicity were 0.732 kg·a-1,1.65 kg·a-1 and 1.5615 kg·a-1,respectively.Biogas utilization has the least impact on the environment.Under the existing conditions,the three models are in a state of loss.When the carbon price reaches 22.0 CNY·t-1,the three models begin to make profits,and the marginal profits are 7.47 CNY,4.396 CNY and 4.26 CNY,respectively.In sum-mary,the advantages of biogas utilization are obvious,and the application of pyrolysis carbonization and direct combustion power generation according to local conditions is still economically feasible.关键词
