Abstract

This study investigates the unilateral rub-impact fault between the spindle journal and oil-sealing flange in an aero-engine bearing test rig.Experimental rub-impact tests and rotor-seal quasi-static modeling were conducted to analyze vibration characteristics and rub-impact mechanisms.Results reveal that rub-impact excites multiple rotational frequency harmonics accompanied by significant rob-impact induced oscillations.As rotational speed increases,the dominant component of vibration frequency of the rotor system translates from a single rotational frequency harmonic 1X to multi-frequency harmonic dominance.Prolonged rub-impact leads to gradual attenuation of low-frequency minor-amplitude fluctuations,while energy at 2X and 3X harmonics intensifies significantly and dominates eventually.Simulation results indicate that the maximum deformation zone of the oil seal is highly consistent with the deformation trend of the first-order bending modal of the rotor,and this zone coincides with the severe rub-impact region.The extracted rub-impact related characteristic frequency provides an important basis for diagnosis of similar rob-impact faults in high-speed rotor systems.
