Transmission Loss Prediction Method for Exhaust Mufflers of Rolling Rotor Compressors

Abstract
The exhaust muffler is a critical component for suppressing aerodynamic noise in rolling rotor compressors.However,the complex three-dimensional acoustic field characteristics of the muffler lead to significant errors in transmission loss prediction using traditional empirical formulas and four-pole network method.Consequently,the finite element method(FEM)is gradually becoming the mainstream approach for analyzing the acoustic properties of complex mufflers.To address the issues in previous studies,such as overly complex boundary condition settings in simulations,limited validation frequency ranges,and insufficient accuracy in verification methods,this study focuses on a specific rolling rotor compressor.Three-dimensional acoustic models of single-layer and double-layer exhaust mufflers were constructed.Systematic numerical simulations of transmission loss with simplified boundary conditions were conducted,and experimental validation was carried out using a broadband acoustic testing platform(covering 63-6 300 Hz)based on the double-load method.Results demonstrate that experimental and simulated transmission loss curves for the single-layer muffler in 200-6 300 Hz frequency range and double-layer muffler in 112-6 300 Hz frequency range basically exhibit consistent trends,and the peak frequencies of the two curves overlap.The methodology and findings provide valuable references for analyzing the noise reduction performance of exhaust mufflers in rolling rotor compressors.关键词
