Abstract

Bovine rumen fluid were introduced into AnMBR for biological addition to alleviate membrane contamination caused by AnMBR during use.The results showed that compared with non-biological addition,the biological addition significantly increased the yield and content of acetic acid,respectively.Biological addition effectively reduced the sludge viscosity and the number of particles in the range of 10.0-1 000.0 μm,which slowed down the formation of sludge cake layer.Additionally,the decrease of MLSS and MLVSS under the condition of bio-logical addition was beneficial to slow down the formation of gel layer,and the time to reach the limit membrane pressure(35 kPa)was pro-longed to 27 d.The SEM-EDX analysis of the membrane surface structure found that the mud cake layer structure under biological addition was more loose compared with non-biological addition,and the decrease of organic elements indicated that the organic pollution on the membrane surface was reduced.Moreover,the biological addition promoted the increase of the relative abundance of functional microorganisms that de-graded macromolecular substances.The biological addition of bovine rumen fluid in AnMBR could effectively reduce membrane fouling.
