Yao Meiyu's experience in treating endometriosis based on the theory of intertwining of six stagnations with Qi stagnation as the forerunner

Abstract
Abstrct:This article summarizes Yao Meiyu's clinical experience in treating endometriosis with the theory of six stagnations.From the perspective of the six stagnations,this paper elaborates on their respective roles in the onset and progression of the disease.Regarding the evolution of pathogenesis,it emphasizes that among the six stagnations,qi stagnation is the primary pathogenic factor,combined with specific clinical symptoms.Arising from qi stagnation,other stagnations gradually develop,which can be divided into qi stagnation transforming into fire,decoction-induced depletion of body fluids,blockage of the uterine collaterals and the Chong-Ren vessels,impaired ascent and descent leading to the production of phlegm and dampness,gradually turning into accumulation and obstruction of the collaterals,and qi stagnation and blood stasis combining with phlegm-dampness to form entrenched masses in the uterus,and the six stagnations intertwine,ultimately resulting in endometriosis.The basic treatment method is to relieve stagnation.Modified Xiaochaihu Decoction is used as the base formula to soothe the liver,regulate qi,and harmonize the pivot mechanism,combined with modified Shengjiang Powder to disperse stagnated fire and regulate qi movement,combined with modified Baohe Pill to promote digestion,strengthen the spleen,regulate qi,and alleviate stagnation,and combined with modified Danggui Shaoyao Powder to strengthen the spleen,resolve dampness,invigorate blood,and eliminate stasis.Clinically,depression should be distinguished according to the syndrome,and the four formulas should be flexibly used.关键词
