Menghe Medical School's distinctive treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of the Menghe Medical School's distinctive diagnosis and treatment protocol of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods 240 patients with COPD were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group,with 120 cases in each group,using the pragmatic clinical trial(PCT)design method from real-world reasearch.The control group received conventional Western medicine alone,while the observation group was given TCM treatment based on syndrome differentiation based on conventional Western medicine therapy.The Changes in clinical indicators were compared between two groups.Results Compared with before treatment,COPD Assessment Test(CAT)scores significantly decreased in both groups after treatment(P<0.05),and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,symptom scores for cough,expectoration,sputum color,and wheezing decreased in both groups,and the observation group showed more significant improvement(P<0.05).Both groups showed significant improvement in pulmonary function indices,with the observation group demonstrating more pronounced improvement(P<0.05).After treatment,compared with the control group,the observation group showed more significant improvemet in blood oxygen saturation(SaO2)and arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2),with arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)decreasing to the lower level(P<0.05).Conclusion The Menghe Medical School's treatment protocol,centered on"harmonizing therapy with gradual treatment,spleen and stomach as the foundation,simultaneous treatment of phlegm and stasis,and comprehensive intervention",can significantly alleviate clinical symptoms and improve physiological function in patients with COPD,while effectively reducing the frequency of acute exacerbations.关键词
