Abstract

To address the technical challenges of low signal-to-noise ratio and high decoding error rates in high-rate(rate≥10 bit/s)conditions for downhole continuous wave transmission systems,research is conducted on fluid pressure wave signal processing and decoding methods.Methodologically,the study first analyzed the distortion and interference mechanisms of pressure wave signals caused by complex downhole channel characteristics and sensor installation conditions.Second,to tackle signal aliasing issues arising from strong background noise and multipath reflections,a cascaded denoising method based on the shift-subtract principle is proposed.By dynamically estimating the noise baseline and progressively eliminating interference components,this approach effectively enhanced the characteristics of weak pressure waves.Building on this,coherent decoding technology is introduced,utilizing the correlation between the local carrier and received signals for symbol synchronization and phase discrimination.A comprehensive high-data-rate continuous wave signal processing workflow is thus established,integrating preprocessing,denoising,synchronization,and decoding.Simulation and field test results demonstrated that under harsh conditions with a signal-to-noise ratio as low as-20 dB,the method could stably extract pressure wave feature parameters,reducing waveform distortion rates to below 5%.Continuous wave signal symbol synchronization errors are less than 0.1 carrier cycles,and the decoding bit error rate is reduced to below 10-5,achieving error-free symbol recovery.The system's effective transmission rate consistently reached 12~15 bit/s.The study concluded that the developed signal processing framework significantly improved the transmission reliability of high-speed continuous waves in highly interfered channels,effectively enhanced the quality of real-time imaging data uploading and drilling guidance control precision,and provided critical technical support for intelligent downhole measurement in complex formations.
