摘要

Abstract

To alleviate the contradiction between surging traffic volumes and the insufficient load-bearing ca-pacity of early-stage expressways,bridge widening has become a critical technology.This paper systemati-cally reviews 70 core publications from 1963 to 2025,identifying five key research domains through multidi-mensional scaling analysis:innovative design of widening schemes and splicing structures,mechanical behav-ior of spliced structures,development of high-performance joint materials,dynamic characteristics of widened bridges,and calculation methods for transverse internal forces.Research indicates that existing achievements primarily consist of empirical summaries from specific engineering cases,with preliminary results obtained in the design and mechanical analysis of lateral widening schemes.However,significant limitations persist,in-cluding inadequate interpretation of the structural interaction mechanisms,incomplete development systems for new materials,insufficient depth in dynamic characteristics research,imprecise computational methods,and immature technical specifications.This review aims to systematically consolidate existing findings,clarify key future research priorities,and contribute to the sustainable development of transportation infrastructure.
