Abstract
In water-bearing soft clay layers,variations in moisture content significantly influence the mechanical behavior of soils and pose challenges to shield tunneling safety and ground settlement control.To investigate the mechanical response of silty clay under different moisture conditions and its engineering implications,a series of unconsolidated undrained triaxial compression tests were conducted using remolded silty clay specimens collected from a typical shield section of Wuhan Metro Line 12.The test results show that when the moisture content exceeds 25%,both the shear strength and elastic modulus of the soil drop sharply,and the deformation characteristics shift from strain softening to rheological behavior.Based on this,a trial tunneling section was implemented in a soft clay zone with high moisture content,and the shield-induced surface heave,thrust force,and torque were continuously monitored.The field observations confirmed that soil deformation patterns were strongly correlated with moisture-sensitive strength degradation,verifying the consistency between laboratory findings and field responses.The research provides a theoretical and practical reference for tunneling parameter optimization and ground stability control in water-sensitive soft ground conditions.关键词
