The correlation between phase angle and nutritional status in lung cancer patients

Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between bioelectrical impedance phase angle(PhA)and nutritional status in patients with lung cancer.Methods A total of 128 hospitalized lung cancer patients were enrolled.Body composition was assessed using a bioelectrical impedance analyzer to obtain PhA values.Nutritional risk screening and laboratory tests were performed concurrently.Correlations between PhA and nutritional indicators were analyzed.Results Spearman correlation analysis showed that PhA was positively correlated with BMI and serum albumin(ALB)(P<0.01),and negatively correlated with age and NRS-2002 scores(P<0.01).Univariate analysis indicated that age,BMI,and NRS-2002 score were significantly associated with low PhA in lung cancer patients(P<0.05).Using the median PhA(5.25°)as the cutoff,multivariate regression analysis revealed that low BMI,high NRS-2002 score,and low ALB were independent risk factors for reduced PhA(P<0.05).Conclusion PhA is closely associated with the nutritional status of lung cancer patients and may serve as a useful clinical indicator for identifying malnutrition in this pop-ulation.关键词
