Hollow fiber F-P interferometric sensor for refractive index measurement

Abstract
To achieve rapid detection of solution refractive index,a Fabry-Perot interferometric sensor based on hollow-core fi-ber is designed.The single-mode fiber-hollow-core fiber-single-mode fiber structure is adopted,and glycerol-water solutions with different concentrations are used as the test samples for experimental investigation.The influence of hollow-core fiber length(50~300 μm)on sensor sensitivity is systematically examined.The experimental results show that the output peak power of the sensor increases with the decrease of solution refractive index,and a shorter hollow-core fiber leads to higher sen-sitivity.When the hollow-core fiber length is 50 μm,the sensor sensitivity reaches 61.395 77 dBm/RIU with a goodness of fit of R²=0.977 41,which is the optimal length for refractive index detection.关键词
