Enhancement and suppression of Terahertz radiation in liquids based on ion regulation

Abstract
To elucidate the mechanism of ion regulated liquid terahertz radiation,this study systematically investigated the ef-fects of Cl⁻,HCO₃⁻,Na⁺,and Ca²⁺ on terahertz radiation from femtosecond laser-induced water jets.By combining conductiv-ity and refractive index measurements with molecular dynamics simulations,the radiation behaviors in 0.1~0.6 mol/L NaCl,CaCl₂,NaHCO₃,and Ca(HCO₃)₂ solutions were revealed.Experimental results show that the radiation intensity of NaCl solu-tion at 0.5 mol/L is enhanced by 30%compared with that of pure water,while HCO₃⁻-containing systems exhibit significant ra-diation suppression starting from 0.2 mol/L,and the degree of suppression is negatively correlated with conductivity.Raising the temperature to 40 ℃ further amplifies the gain effect of NaCl solution.Cl⁻ enhances terahertz radiation by weakening the hydrogen bond network and improving carrier mobility,whereas HCO₃⁻ suppresses radiation by capturing free electrons.关键词
