Abstract

Objective:To observe the analgesic effect of sparrow pecking moxibustion on primary dysmenorrhea.Methods:Sparrow pec-king moxibustion was applied to SD rats using an intelligent moxibustion simulation system,and temperature changes were recorded.Fe-male SD rats in the estrus-interestrus period were randomly divided into a blank group,model group,sparrow pecking moxibustion group,and sham sparrow pecking moxibustion group,with 6 rats in each group.Except for the blank group,the other rats received daily subcutaneous injections of estradiol benzoate in the thigh for 10 consecutive days.Rats in the sparrow pecking moxibustion group re-ceived moxibustion in the order of one side Sanyinjiao,Guanyuan,and the contralateral Sanyinjiao after daily modeling,15 minutes per acupoint,once a day for a total of 10 times.On the 10th day of modeling,oxytocin was intraperitoneally injected into the rats to observe writhing responses.Histopathological morphology of the rat uterus was observed using HE staining,and uterine prostaglandin E2(PGE2)and PGF2α levels were measured by ELISA.Results:The temperature of bee-pecking moxibustion showed a rapid rising phase and a stable phase,with a skin temperature of(43.1±1.6)℃.Compared with the blank group,the writhing score of rats in the model group increased,the number of writhes increased,and the latency shortened(P<0.001),indicating successful establishment of the primary dysmenorrhea model.Compared with the model group and the sham bee-pecking moxibustion group,the writhing score of rats in the bee-pecking moxibustion group decreased,the number of writhes decreased,and the latency was prolonged(P<0.05).HE staining showed that the endometrium of rats in the model group and the sham bee-pecking moxibustion group was thickened,with obvious in-flammatory cell infiltration in the interstitium of muscle cells.Congestion,edema,and inflammatory cell infiltration in the uterine tissue interstitium of rats in the bee-pecking moxibustion group were significantly reduced compared with the model group.Compared with the blank group,the uterine histopathological scores and contents of PGE2 and PGF2α in the model group increased(P<0.001);compared with the model group and the sham bee-pecking moxibustion group,the uterine histopathological scores and contents of PGE2 and PGF2α in the sparrow-pecking moxibustion group decreased(P<0.01).Conclusion:Sparrow-pecking moxibustion can produce sta-ble,safe,and effective thermal stimulation,relieve pain symptoms in rats with primary dysmenorrhea,and inhibit the inflammatory re-sponse.
