Abstract

For the treatment of organic industrial waste salt,the degradation effects of electrochemical treatment and water washing on organic matter in waste salt were experimentally studied,and the influences of different factors on organic matter removal efficiency were investigated.The results showed that BDD electrochemical oxidation exhibited high degradation efficiency for various organic matters in waste salt.For a 30%industrial sodium chloride waste salt solution,a total organic carbon(TOC)removal rate of more than 80%was achieved after 2 hours of degradation at a current density of 60 mA/cm2,and a TOC removal rate of up to 98%was obtained after 4 hours of degradation.A large amount of HClO,ClO-and other substances were produced in the early stage of electrochemical oxidation due to the high sodium chloride concentration in the saline wastewater,and the oxidation of organic matter played a dominant role,so that the influences of current density and initial pH value on TOC removal were weakened.In addition,the indirect oxidation effect of·OH on organic matter was verified by the addition of a scavenger.Water washing also presented favorable removal efficiency for TOC in waste salt and was proven to be suitable as an advanced treatment method after electrochemical oxidation.
