Current Situation of Conservation and Utilization of Jinan Cattle and Development Suggestions for the Breed
摘要
Abstract
Jinan cattle is one of the famous meat and servitude breeds in southern Hebei Province,listed as a local breed in the National Catalogue of Livestock Genetic Resources.They hold significant value for scientific research and industrial development.However,with the widespread adoption of agricultural mecha-nization,the population of Jinan cattle has declined sharply,placing it on the brink of extinction.The genetic resources of Jinan cattle now face unprecedented challenges.This paper outlines the genetic characteristics of Jinan cattle,including their formation history,origin and distribution,breed traits,and production per-formance.It details the current conservation status and proposed conservation strategies,highlighting issues such as low population numbers,breed degradation,impure germplasm,and insufficient research depth.De-velopment strategies and recommendations are proposed,including expanding population size,increasing policy support,and establishing a breeding system.关键词
