Effect of nutritional intervention based on the"gut-muscle axis"on postoperative frailty and quality of life in liver transplant recipients

Abstract
Objective To investigate the impact of nutritional intervention measures based on the"gut-muscle axis"theory on the postoperative frailty status and quality of life in liver transplant recipients.Methods A total of 74 liver transplant recipients were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into control group and study group using the random number table meth-od,with 37 cases in each group.The control group received routine nursing and nutritional interven-tion during the perioperative period,while the study group adopted nutritional intervention measures based on the"gut-muscle axis"theory in addition to the above-mentioned measures.Bifidobacterium Triple Viable Powder was supplemented from the 3rd day after surgery.The Liver Frailty Index(LFI)scale,International Physical Activity Questionnaire(IPAQ),Mini Nutritional Assessment Short-Form(MNA-SF),and Chronic Liver Disease Questionnaire(CLDQ)were used to evaluate the frailty de-gree,physical activity level,nutritional status,and quality of life of patients in the two groups before and after the intervention.Results After the intervention,the LFI scale score in the study group was lower than that in the control group,and the physical activity volume was higher than that in the con-trol group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).After the intervention,the scores of activity ability,psychological status,appetite,body mass index(BMI),as well as the total score in the MNA-SF of the study group were higher than those of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).After the intervention,the scores of each dimension and the total score of the CLDQ in the study group were all higher than those in the control group,with statistically signifi-cant differences(P＜0.05).Conclusion Nutritional intervention measures based on the"gut-muscle axis"theory can improve the perioperative frailty status of liver transplant recipients,pro-mote the recovery of nutritional status,and enhance the quality of life.关键词
