中部地区各省人才集聚力的统计评价
Statistical Evaluation of Talent Agglomeration Capacity in the Provinces of Central China Based on Panel Data from 2014 to 2023

Abstract
As a primary resource,talent plays a crucial role in promoting high-quality re-gional development and fostering new competitive advantages.Focusing on the six provinces in Central China,this study systematically evaluates provincial talent agglomeration capacity and its dynamic evolution from 2014 to 2023 using the global principal component analysis(PCA)method.The results indicate that three factors-industrial innovation and commer-cial vitality,income security and public educational services,economic foundations and infra-structure-form a positive reinforcing cycle.Living pressure acts as a negative disturbance factor,while talent reserves and educational empowerment constitute the foundational sources of talent development.These five factors interact with one another and jointly shape regional talent agglomeration capacity.A hierarchical differentiation is observed among the six provinces,forming a pattern characterized by"Hubei leading,Anhui and Hunan follow-ing,Henan and Jiangxi at a middle level and Shanxi catching up".From a time-series per-spective,overall talent agglomeration capacity shows an upward trend.However,inter-provincial disparities first narrowed and then widened,leading to a Matthew effect in which stronger prov-inces continued to strengthen,while late-developing provinces faced limited catch-up mo-mentum.Based on these findings,targeted policy recommendations are proposed for each province from the perspective of the five key influencing factors,aiming to enhance high-quality development in Central China through strengthened talent agglomeration.关键词
