摘要

Abstract

Objective:Analyzing the vitamin D level of adolescents in the Nanchang region and provide a basis for appropriate vitamin D supplementation for adolescents in this area.Meth-ods:Serum samples were collected from 873 adolescents aged 10 years and older(experimen-tal group)and 857 infants and toddlers aged 0~2 years(control group)who were diagnosed as undergoing routine physical examinations at the outpatient clinic of Jiangxi provincial Children's Hospital.Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D[25-(OH)D]concentrations were de-termined by CLIA.Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D[25-hydroxyvitamin D,25-(OH)D]levels were measured using chemiluminescence.We analyzed differences in serum 25-(OH)D levels between the two groups and evaluated the effects of gender and season on vitamin D levels in adolescents.Results:Compared with the infant and toddler group,the mean serum 25-(OH)D levels in adolescents were significantly lower,at(74.83±30.19)and(110.97±33.56)nmol/L,respectively(P<0.05).In the adolescent group,there was no statistically significant difference in serum 25-(OH)D levels between genders(P>0.05),while there were slight seasonal variations(summer>fall>spring>winter),though these were not sta-tistically significant.Conclusion:The average serum 25-(OH)D levels in adolescents aged 10 years and older were low,indicating widespread vitamin D deficiency or insufficiency.Adolescents need to increase their time spent outdoors and extend the duration of vitamin D supplementation to improve vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency.
