Building a unified agricultural market:theoretical framework,practical challenges and strategies

Abstract
Based on an analysis of the current segmentation in agricultural markets,the paper constructs a theoretical"structure-institution-technology"framework and systematically examines the development of China's unified agricultural market.The results show that agricultural market segmentation not only arises from spatial patterns and disparities in factor endowments,but also is more deeply rooted in the intertwined effects of institutional constraints and technological deficiencies.Structural contradictions are manifested in uneven factor endowments,mismatched scales,and supply-demand imbalances,which jointly lead to inefficient resource allocation.Institutional barriers are reflected in the coexistence of land system rigidity,the lack of mutual recognition of standards,and local protectionism,all of which hinder factor mobility and market integration.Technological shortcomings mainly include poor digital infrastructure,inadequate data governance,and lagging dissemination of agricultural technologies,thereby limiting information flow and the release of innovation potential.Accordingly,it is recommended to achieve supply-demand coordination and economies of scale by optimizing factor allocation,improving cold-chain logistics and storage systems,and establishing grading and sorting standards,promote interregional governance incentives and fair competition by refining the systems of land-use rights and standard mutual recognition,and improve market transparency and innovation capacity by strengthening data coordination and quality traceability systems and enhancing agricultural technology extension and digital infrastructure.关键词
