Exploring Integrative Approaches to Urban Design and Renewal Driven by Human Settlements Quality Enhancement:A Case Study of Hefei

Abstract
As China's urbanization enters its mid-to-late stage,urban renewal has become a crucial approach for megacities to realize high-quality and sustainable development.Focusing on Hefei,this paper explores the systematic integration of urban design concepts and urban renewal practices.Three core objectives are established:optimizing urban spatial patterns,improving public services,and strengthening ecological and cultural preservation.Renewal strategies are proposed at macro,meso,and micro levels:integrating strategic spatial and ecological-historic structures at the macro level,implementing precise governance at the unit level on the meso scale,and focusing on community and human settlements improvement at the micro level,translating renewal outcomes into tangible benefits for residents.These initiatives provide effective solutions for issues such as lack of systematic planning and loss of local identity in traditional urban renewal projects,and offer a practical reference for the organic renewal of similar megacities in China.关键词
