Abstract
Objective To investigate the efficacy of percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP)combined with bone-filling mesh bag plasty for treating single-level thoracolumbar fracture. Methods The 22 patients with single-level thoracolumbar fractures were treated using PKP combined with bone-filling mesh bag plasty.Operation time, intraoperative blood loss, volume of bone cement injected, incidence of complications, pain VAS,kyphotic Cobb angle,ODI score, and ver-tebral height percentage were recorded. Results All patients were followed up for 3 months. The intraoperative blood loss was 2-10(5.40±2.15)ml,operation time was 25-44(36.81±5.62)min and volume of bone cement injected was 4.5-7.1(5.98±0.66)ml.The bone cement leakage occurred in one case of intervertebral space during the op-eration;there were no postoperative complications such as nerve damage, pulmonary embolism,or cerebral infarction.Three months after surgery, the pain VAS,kyphotic Cobb angle, and ODI score were all lower than before surgery(P<0.05);the percentage of height of the anterior edge, posterior edge, lateral edge(mean value of left and right sides)of the injured vertebrae were higher than before surgery(P<0.05),and the patient's pain and discomfort in the thraco-lumbar regions had significantly improved, compared to the preoperative levels, with good function of the injured ver-tebrae.Conclusions Percutaneous kyphoplasty combined with bone-filling mesh bag plasty for treating single-level thoracolumbar fracture has the advantages of minimally invasive, low intraoperative bleeding, short surgical time,effec-tive reduction of bone cement leakage, pain relief, and improvement of kyphosis deformity.关键词
