Abstract
Objective:To investigate the correlation between human cytomegalovirus(HCMV)infection in gingival crevicular fluid and periodontal disease staging in middle-aged and elderly populations.Methods:A total of 154 subjects aged 55～75 years underwent periodontal examination and staging.HCMV viral load in gingival crevicular fluid was detected via qPCR,with stratified regression analysis employed to assess associations.Results:Overall HCMV detection rate was 27.27%,with both detection rate and viral load significantly increasing across disease stages(Health group:8.93%→Stage IV:52.38%).After adjusting for confounding factors,each 1 log10 copies/mL increase in HCMV load was associated with a 1.18-fold higher risk of periodontal stage progression,1.14 mm greater attachment loss,0.69 mm deeper probing depth,and 1.15 fewer remaining teeth.Conclusion:HCMV viral load is an independent factor associated with periodontitis severity in middle-aged and elderly individuals,exhibiting a significant dose-response relationship with periodontal tissue destruction.关键词
