Relationship between serum miR-140,miR-139-5p expression and poor prognosis in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage after interventional embolization

Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of serum microRNA-140(miR-140)and microribonucleic acid-139-5p(miR-139-5p)and the poor prognosis in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage after interventional embolization.Methods A total of 153 patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage who received interventional embolization from January 2023 to January 2024 in Department of Neurosurgery,the Second Hospital of Baoding were collected into study group.Classified by the prognosis 3 months after onset,91 cases were included into good prognosis group and 62 cases were included into poor prognosis group.A total of 153 healthy volunteers who underwent physical check-ups were included into the control group.Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to determine the relative expression levels of miR-140 and miR-139-5p in the serum of subjects.Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the factors affecting the poor prognosis of patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage after interventional embolization.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was plotted to analyze the predictive value of serum miR-140 and miR-139-5p for poor postoperative prognosis in patients.Results The serum miR-140 in the study group was higher than that in the control group,and the miR-139-5p was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the good prognosis group,the poor prognosis group had higher serum miR-140 and lower miR-139-5p(P<0.05).There were significant differences in age,diabetes,aneurysm neck width,aneurysm location,WFNS grading,Hunt-Hess grading,modified Fisher grading,mechanical ventilation,pupil dilation,delayed cerebral ischemia,and complications of cerebral vasospasm.Multivariate logistic analysis showed that age,diabetes,aneurysm neck width,aneurysm location,WFNS grading,Hunt Hess grading,modified Fisher grading,mechanical ventilation,delayed cerebral ischemia,cerebral vasospasm,miR-140,miR-139-5p were the influencing factors for poor prognosis after surgery(P<0.05).ROC curve showed that the area under the curve(AUC)value of the combination of serum miR-140 and miR-139-5p in predicting poor prognosis was 0.928,which was prominently higher than that predicted by miR-140 alone(Z=2.107,P=0.035)and miR-139-5p alone(Z=2.325,P=0.020).Conclusions The serum miR-140 increases and miR-139-5p decreases in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage,which are closely related to the prognosis of interventional embolization.关键词
