Abstract
The calculation of the maximum allowable pullback force and the maximum allowable pullback length of PE pipes in horizontal directional drilling(HDD)crossing is discussed.Based on the calculation formula for maximum allowable pullback force speci-fied in Technical Standard for Polyethylene(PE)Gas-eous Fuel Pipeline Engineering(CJJ 63-2018),a re-vised calculation formula is proposed.When the nomi-nal outer diameter of a PE pipe is less than or equal to 110 mm,the maximum allowable pullback length is less than 300 m;when it is greater than or equal to 160 mm,the length exceeds 300 m.The maximum allow-able pullback length of PE pipes increases with their nominal outer diameter.关键词
