Study on the heat performance of spherical phase change thermal storage unit with annular straight fins
摘要
Abstract
To improve the heat storage efficiency of spherical phase change thermal storage units,a combination of experimental and numerical simulation methods was used to investigate the evolution of the melting process of phase change materials inside the spherical storage unit under different heights of annular ribs.The research results indicate that as the height of the annular ribs gradually increases,the rate of temperature rise within the unit accelerates,and compared to units without ribs,the time for complete melting of the phase change material is shortened by 4.81%,7.53%,10.57%,25.98%,29.53%,and 31.74%,respectively.In the early stages of melting,heat transfer is primarily conducted through conduction,while in the later stages of melting,the melting rate in the upper region of the ribs gradually exceeds that in the lower region,with heat transfer primarily through natural convection.This research lays the foundation for the structural optimization study of spherical phase change thermal storage units.关键词
