摘要

Abstract

To explore the optimal treatment parameters and action mechanism of magnetic coagulation(MC)for water treatment,this study conducted a comparative investigation between MC and conventional coagulation(CC)in the treatment of domestic sewage.Experimental results revealed that the optimal water treatment performance was achieved under the following conditions:magnetic powder with a particle size of 100 nm at a dosage of 0.2 g/L,polyaluminum chloride(PAC)coagulant at a concentration of 245 mg/L,cationic polyacrylamide(CPAM)floc-culant at 2.8 mg/L,and a sedimentation time of 25 min.Under these parameters,the turbidity and COD removal rates reached 99.44%and 52.94%,respectively.The sludge sedimentation ratio(SV30),density,and water con-tent were 19.83%,1.19 g/L,and 96.05%,respectively.Comparative analysis indicated that although MC showed no significant enhancement in water quality indices compared to CC,it exhibited distinct advantages in accelerating floc sedimentation and improving treatment efficiency.Specifically,MC remarkably reduced the sedi-mentation time,offering substantial benefits in minimizing sedimentation tank volume and floor area,thereby de-creasing both construction and operational costs.
