Prognostic Value of SLC37 Expression in Ovarian Cancer

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression and significance of SLC37 family in ovarian cancer.Methods:Data on the expression of the four members of the SLC37 family in ovarian cancer patients were retrieved from the Oncomine data-base,and the prognostic value of the SLC37 family was further analyzed using the Kaplan-Meier Plotter online survival analy-sis tool.Additionally,25 ovarian cancer specimens and 25 normal ovarian specimens were collected,respectively.Immuno-histochemistry was used to detect the expression of SLC37A4 in the two groups and its correlation with prognosis.Results:Bioinformatics analysis revealed that the expression levels of SLC37A1 and SLC37A4 were significantly upregulated in ovarian cancer tissues compared with normal ovarian tissues(P<0.05),whereas no significant differences were observed for SLC37A2 and SLC37A3.Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that patients with high expression of SLC37A1/A4 had sig-nificantly better overall survival than those with low expression(P<0.05).Subgroup analysis further demonstrated that high SLC37A1 expression was a protective factor for patients with endometrioid carcinoma(HR:0.29,95％CI:0.10～0.84,P=0.015)and grade I tumors(HR:0.32,95％CI:0.10～0.98,P=0.035),while high SLC37A4 expression was a protective factor for patients with serous carcinoma(HR:0.85,95％CI:0.74～0.99,P=0.032)and grade II tumors(HR:0.64,95％CI:0.48～0.86,P=0.003).Immunohistochemical validation in clinical samples confirmed that the positive expression rate of SLC37A4 was significantly higher in ovarian cancer tissues(68.00％)than in normal ovarian tissues(16.00％)(P<0.05).Patients with high SLC37A4 expression exhibited significantly better prognosis than those with low expression(P=0.041).SLC37A4 was identified as an independent prognostic factor for ovarian cancer patients(HR:0.13,95％CI:0.03～0.59,P=0.008).Conclusion:SLC37A1 and SLC37A4 are highly expressed in ovarian cancer and associated with favorable prognosis.In particular,SLC37A4 represents a promising prognostic biomarker,and its potential as a therapeutic target warrants further investigation once its functional mechanisms are elucidated.关键词
