Effects of Astragalus membranaceus and Ginkgo biloba Extract on Production Performance,Serum Biochemical Indexes and Intestinal Morphology of Yellow-Feathered Broilers

Abstract
The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of adding Astragalus membranaceus Ginkgo biloba extract to the feeding ration on the growth performance,slaughter performance,meat quality,serum biochemical indexes,and intestinal morphology of yellow-feathered broilers.Two hundred and forty healthy 78-day-old yellow-feathered broilers of similar weight and body condition were selected for a 42-day trial.They were randomly divided into 2 treatment groups and each treatment group was randomly subdivided into 6 replicates of 20 birds each.The control group was fed normal ration and the experimental group was fed 5 g/kg of Astragalus membranaceus Ginkgo biloba extract added to the basal ration.The results showed that:① compared with the control group,the addition of Astragalus membranaceus Ginkgo biloba extract to the ration had no significant effect on the growth performance,slaughter performance,meat quality(P>0.05).② Compared with the control group,the serum alanine aminotransferase content was significantly reduced(P<0.05),and the total protein and globulin con-tent were significantly increased(P<0.05).③Compared with the control group,the villus height of duodenum and jejunum was significantly increased in the test group(P<0.05).In conclu-sion,under the conditions of this experiment,the addition of 5 g/kg astragalus Ginkgo biloba extract to the ration had no significant effect on the growth performance,slaughter performance,meat quality of yellow-feathered broilers,but could improve their serum biochemical indexes and intestinal morphology.关键词
