Treatment of Hyperthyroidism Based on the Theory of ＂Deficiency-Qi Stagnation＂
摘要
Abstract
Hyperthyroidism is a chronic condition characterized by increased bodily excitability and elevated basal metabolic rate.Its typical clinical manifestations include ＂goiter＂＂hypermetabolic syndrome＂and ＂exophthalmos＂.Professor LIU Hua-izhen posits that ＂deficiency and qi stagnation＂can be considered the core pathogenesis of hyperthyroidism,persisting throughout the disease's progression.He notes that hyperthyroidism is fundamentally rooted in congenital insufficiency and yin deficiency of the liver and kidney,with qi stagnation,phlegm coagulation,and blood stasis as its external manifestations.The treatment focu-ses on reinforcing the body's resistance and consolidating its foundation,with an emphasis on resolving stagnation and dispersing nodules.Innovatively,Professor LIU formulated the Chai Shao Er Zhi prescription to nourish the congenital yin and support the liver and kidney,complemented by traditional Chinese medicines that regulate qi,resolve phlegm,disperse nodules,and elimi-nate goiter.This approach addresses both the symptoms and the root causes,harmonizing the physical and spiritual aspects to a-chieve a balance of yin and yang.关键词
