Abstract

To clarify the genetic laws governing the characteristics of the bright green leaves of tree peony and to enhance the efficiency of artificial breeding,25 tree peony cultivars(10 cultivars of bright green leaves and 15 cultivars of non-bright green leaves)were used as the research objects in this study.ISSR molecular markers were used to analyse the affinities between the parental materials with bright green leaves and non-bright green leaves and their progeny materials.The results showed that the 12 pairs of primers amplified a total of 2780 ban-ds,with the proportion of polymorphic bands being 99.86%,and the band lengths were mostly concentrated between 200 bp and 900 bp.The cluster analysis classified the 25 tree peony cultivars into 10 categories,among which C21(Paeonia suffruticosa'Duohua Luohan'× P suffruticosa'Liyuan Chun'progeny)was the closest to the three cultivars with bright green leaves.The results indicate that P suffruticosa'Duohua Luohan'can significantly enhance the breeding efficiency of descendants with the bright green leaves trait.Among them,the cross with P.suffruticosa'Liyuan Chun'is the most promising combination,which can provide a theoretical basis for the directional breeding and parent selection of the bright green leaves trait in tree peony.
