Deep Sea Economy:Conceptualization,Practical Challenges,and Breakthrough Pathways

Abstract
As a"new arena"in global strategic competition,the deep sea is accelerating the emergence of a"new economy"converging resources,technology,and geopolitics.The global deep sea economy is rapidly evolving,with nations actively positioning themselves and exploring diverse developmental models.The conceptualization of the deep sea economy encompasses spatial,resource,technological,and legal dimensions,forming a novel comprehensive economic paradigm.Its advancement faces multifaceted challenges:technological barriers and prohibitive capital thresholds,fragmented regulations and governance gaps,conflicts between resource exploitation and ecological conservation,and intertwined geopolitical rivalries and security risks.As a global leader in deep sea exploration and development,China must uphold the vision of a maritime community with a shared future to foster sustainable growth in this sector.By forging new pathways amidst strategic competition and ecological constraints,China can expand new frontiers in marine economic development,bolster its strong maritime country,and provide practical references for the international community in exploring the"deep frontier"and advancing the"new economy".关键词
