Abstract

During full load operation,wind power converters generate a large amount of heat,which is usually built into the cabinet to form a wind power converter cabinet.When the heat inside the wind power converter cabinet is not effectively dissipated,it will affect the operation reliability of various components of the converter.Especially for high temperature and high humidity environments,the heat dissipation performance of wind power converter cabinets deserves more attention.Based on this,this paper studies the heat dissipation performance of wind power converter cabinets under high temperature and high humidity environments through theoretical analysis and field test.Firstly,the heat dissipation method of the power module inside the wind power converter cabinet is introduced,and then the cooling air duct structure inside the wind power converter cabinet is optimized.Finally,the heat dissipation effect of the optimized cooling air duct structure of the wind power converter cabinet is verified through on machine testing of a wind turbine in Turpan,Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.The analysis results show that:1)After optimizing the cooling air duct structure inside the wind power converter cabinet,the heat dissipation method has been changed from external circulation to internal circulation heat dissipation,which can effectively avoid the erosion of external environmental moisture and dust particles.2)According to the finite element model analysis results,after optimizing the cooling air duct structure inside wind power converter cabinet,the maximum operating temperature of the power module inside the wind power converter cabinet is lower than its upper limit of operating temperature when the wind turbine is running for 4800 s,indicating that the heat dissipation effect has been improved.3)The hanging test results of wind turbine in high temperature and high humidity environment,as well as simulation analysis results of Matlab software,indicate that compared with before the optimization of the cooling air duct structure inside the wind power converter cabinet,the temperature of the supporting capacitor decreases significantly after the optimization of the cooling duct structure.The research results have certain engineering significance for effectively improving the heat dissipation performance of wind power converter cabinets under high temperature and humidity environments.
