A review of electron-impact ionization processes for highly charged ions
摘要
Abstract
Electron-impact ionization is a fundamental atomic collision process and ubiquitous in various plasmas.Investigations into electron impact ionization processes can provide insight into microscopic atomic collision dynamics and atomic data for related research fields.Our research group has developed theoretical methods for studying the single and double ionization of highly charged ions.We systematically researched the electron-impact single ionization of tungsten and stannum ions,which is of interest in fusion plasmas and EUV lithography,as well as the double ionization of low-Z ions.The ionization cross sections and rate coefficients are calculated,which agree with experimental data.Additionally,we analyze the contributions and competitions among different ionization channels,revealing the mechanisms underlying single and double ionization for highly charged ions.The obtained results and theoretical models could provide theoretical support for experimental studies on electron-impact ionization processes,as well as for fields such as astrophysics,nuclear fusion physics,weapons physics,and related industries.关键词
