摘要

Abstract

A quantitative study on the laminarity of electron beams in terahertz Traveling Wave Tubes(TWTs)is presented.A new dimensionless parameter—the electron beam laminarization parameter—is introduced,and a quantitative formula applicable to electron beam laminarity is derived.A theoretical model for quantitative evaluation of electron beams is established.Based on this theoretical model,Matlab software is employed to calculate and analyze the quantitative influence of thermal initial velocity effects on laminarity.The calculation results demonstrate that the cathode thermal initial velocity in G-band TWT electron guns is a critical factor in degrading laminarity.When other parameters remain fixed,the thermal initial velocity causes the electron beam laminarization parameter to increase by 78.59%.Therefore,the proposed laminarization parameter can effectively characterize electron beam laminarity quantitatively.
