晚清江苏水上救生经费筹措与资产运作
Funding Procurement and Asset Management of Water Lifesaving in Jiangsu During the Late Qing Dynasty

Abstract
During the late Qing Dynasty,the restoration and reconstruction of water lifesaving initiatives in Jiangsu were closely tied to the multi-channel fundraising efforts of local officials,gentry,and merchant-gentry.Following the conclusion of the Taiping Rebellion,local officials raised funds to rebuild these operations,encouraging the gentry and merchant to donate and entrusting them with managerial roles.Funding was primarily procured through official allocations,miscellaneous taxes and levies,and charitable contributions and solicitations.Concurrently,asset management was conducted through the acquisition of properties for rent collection and the deposit of funds in institutions to generate interest.During this process,funding sources exhibited a trend towards diversification,aligning with the modernizing trajectory of traditional charitable organizations.关键词
