The role and potential mechanisms of neutrophil extracellular traps in acute kidney injury
摘要
Abstract
Neutrophil activation can release neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs),which are involved in capturing and killing pathogenic microorganisms,as well as maintaining the body's immune balance. In pathological conditions, excessive release of NETs can promote inflammation and fibrosis in various organs, and contribute to the occurrence and development of various diseases, including acute kidney injury(AKI).Studies have confirmed that NETs can participate in the pathogenesis of AKI by regulating oxidative stress, inflammatory responses including inflammatory response, pyroptosis,Nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells(NF-κB)、Signal transducers and activators of transcription(STAT),as well as fibrosis processes such as transforming growth factor β1 signaling.Transforming growth factor-beta 1(TGF-β1)and other pathways.NETs play an important pathogenic role in the initiation and progression of AKI.Therefore, the activation of NETs may be a new mechanism and potential intervention target affecting the occurrence and development of AKI.In this review,we summa-rize the formation of NETs,their biological roles and the underlying molecular mechanisms in AKI.关键词
