Abstract

Pharmaceuticals and personal care products(PPCPs)have attracted attention because of the threat they pose to the environment and human health.Sn-doped TiO2 photocatalysts can effectively treat PPCP pollutants in the presence of visible light.This study analysed the impact of different calcination temperatures on the photocatalytic degradation performance of Sn-TiO2 composites.Multiple characterisation techniques were employed to examine the structure and morphology of the prepared materials.The results show that the Sn-TiO2 photocatalyst synthesised at a calcination temperature of 400℃exhibits the highest degradation efficiency for two representative PPCPs,ciprofloxacin(CIP)and tetracycline hydrochloride(TC),under visible light.Its photodegradation performance for TC is 18.67 times higher than that of pure TiO2.This significant enhancement in photocatalytic activity is attributed to the influence of the calcination temperature on the composite material's physicochemical properties,charge carrier dynamics and surface reactivity.
