Examples of Commonly Used Traditional Chinese Medicine Couplet Medicines for the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease by Professor Zou Yanqin

Abstract
Professor Zou Yanqin,a National Master of Chinese Medicine and inheritor of the Menghe School of Medi-cine,has been engaged in clinical work related to the treatment of kidney diseases with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)since the 1970s.Under the guidance of Zou Yunxiang,she has developed unique insights and rich experience in the use of Chinese medicine for treating chronic kidney disease.Professor Zou Yangin believes that chronic kidney dis-ease is fundamentally due to deficiency of spleen and kidney,with accumulation of dampness-heat and blood stasis as the manifestation.Treatment should involve balanced tonification and purging,approached gradually.She is skilled in u-sing heat clearing and dampness relieving drugs to treat chronic kidney dysfunction,and is skilled in using kidney toni-fying and spleen strengthening,blood activating,and meridian activating drugs to treat chronic kidney dysfunction.A summary of her prescriptions for chronic kidney disease reveals her proficiency in using couplet medicines for synergis-tic treatment,formulating from the perspectives of reinforcing healthy Qi and expelling pathogens,closely aligning with pathogenesis,with specific functions,simple yet powerful medicines,and clear therapeutic effects.Now select common-ly used couplet medicines by her and elaborate on their significance in the treatment of chronic kidney disease.关键词
